7 Ways To Pamper Yourself This Autumn

Autumn is one of my fave times of year simply because of the fashion, cosy nights and downtime. Life really slows down for me suring Autumn and I like to use those months to top up on wellness and self-care.

If I’m being honest working from home due to the pandemic I’ve slacked in both departments. For some strange reason, I am finding it hard to unplug and recharge myself. The only thing I seem to be committed to this autumn is working out.

The last time I pampered myself properly was in Belfast (check out the vlog) in October. I didn’t even realise that it had been so long. I realised that now is the perfect time for me to get back on track. As we no longer have to deal with the hustle and bustle of the daily commute. Many of us no longer have to wake up at the crack of the dawn. We have a bit more free time on our hands so why not use it to love on ourselves?

Catch Up on Sleep

You can never have enough sleep. Sometimes it’s all the body needs to in order to be revitalised. Why not consider having an extra hour in bed on the weekends? The first lockdown really messed up my sleeping pattern.

It was out of sync and all over the place. For the last two months, I’ve been using my Apple watch to keep track of my daily sleep habits. It has really helped me stick to a stricter sleep schedule and my body loves me more because of it. Put your digital devices on do not disturb and have a good night sleep.

Aromatherapy Candlelit Baths

The spas have closed due to lockdown 2, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t bring the spa home. Well, that is if you have a bathtub. After work, one evening set yourself a hot bath. Sprinkle your favourite essential oil and drop in a pinch of bath salt. Light some candles, put on your favourite playlist and soak yourself off and relax. It’s the perfect way to end a long day of sitting in front of your laptop. If you don’t have a bathtub, opt-in for a hot steamy shower, light some candles and burn some essential oils (thank me later 😃).

Facials

Splurge out on some luxury skincare bits this Autumn and enjoy a lovely facial in the comfort in your own home. Beauty bay, The Ordinary, The Bodyshop and Superdrugs always have the best deals when it comes to skincare. At the moment, I’m in love with sheet masks and Retinol.

Dinner For One

I know many people are sick of the kitchen at the moment. So, if you can still stomach it why not have the ultimate night in and treat yourself to dinner for one?. You’ve got two options to order your favourite takeaway or if you’re cook your best dish. Better yet, why not try and cook a dish you’ve always wanted to try?. I love cooking for myself and I must admit I haven’t done as much in the 2nd lockdown. But, you see when I do get in that kitchen I’m never ever disappointed.

You, Yourself & Netflix, Now Tv, Sky or Amazon Prime

At the moment I’m in between Girlfriends, Moesha, The Proud Family, This Is Us and The Crown etc. I binge-watch a show every other day depending on my mood and I love it. Sitting in bed with a few snacks with a good series, or documentary on rotation makes the perfect lazy day 10 times better. Everyone should aim to have at least one or two days out of the week in the Autumn dedicated to a binge watch. Probably even more if you can spare the time.

Stretch your body

I work out 5 days a week (click here to find out more). Stretching does wonders for my body. Stretching can help keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy.

  • Improves flexibility.
  • Does wonders for your posture.
  • Injury Prevention.
  • Increased Nutrients and Reduced Soreness.
  • Calmed Mind.
  • Release Tension.
  • Increase Energy.

Natural Herbal Tea

Natural herbal tea is known for its calming and healing properties. During Autumn it’s in your best interest to keep your immune system boosted. Herbal teas will help you do just that. This will help prepare your respiratory tract to fight off a cold. In these unprecedented times, you need all the support you can get.

I love natural teas and I keep my kitchen stocked up with my favourite herbs all year round. Some of my favourite herbal teas include:

  • Peppermint
  • Cinnamon
  • Hibiscus
  • Echinacea
  • Elderberry
  • Ginger tea
