OMG GUYS…I tried CBD oil for the first time in my life. I’ve heard so much about it online but in all honestly knew very little. Although I’m very much aware of the misconceptions and negative stigma attached to most Cannabis-related products. Which is a bit of a shame because after what I know now I wish more people would read up about it. Of course, I had to share my experience with you about what went down when I tried it for the first time. But before I do that let me drop some knowledge on you first.

cbd oil review

What is CBD oil?

CDB stands for Cannabidiol, which is one of 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants that account for up to 40% of the plant’s extract. It is legal to purchase here in the UK and most states in the US. I would suggest purchasing it from reputable establishments only. I already know what you’re thinking. So let me make it clear that CBD oil will not get you high or turn you into an addict.

What is CBD oil good for?

CBD has been studied extensively across the globe for its potential role in easing symptoms of many common health issues. Those of which including anxiety, depression, acne and heart disease, pain and symptom relief. There is lots of great research out which prove how beneficial it is to health and wellness market.

My experience

Herts Hemp sent me to two CBD Cannabis oil products to review. The CBG/Ddrops that I received were 5 and 18%. First of al I loved the packaging because it is sleek, compact, and very informative. As a first time user I really appreciated the level of detail and instructions available immediately via the packaging.

I don’t have any inflammatory health issues so I decided to wait until my monthly cycle arrived. This was I could use the product as period pain relief. Period pain can sometimes be a hit or miss with me. It’s VERY unpredictable so I didn’t know what I would be up against. However I was glad to have the opportunity to try out a different kind of pain relief.

How to use the drops

The instructions recommend the following:

  • Shake the bottle well before use.
  • Place 5-10 drops under my tongue.
  • Hold for 60 seconds, then swallow.
  • Also not to exceed 200mg CBG per day.
  • Avoid eating and drinking immediately afterwards

The first day of my cycle usually welcomes me with a sore lower back, so I used the 5% drops first. The drops had a very strong taste and I believe this was due to the high potency of the product. It other words this is a good thing and shows how pure the oil is. After about an hour or so I definitely noticed my lower back pain ease up. I was able to stand up for much longer than I would during a normal cycle. This was a good sign but I knew that going into the second day of my cycle I would be needing something much stronger.

As predicted the second day of my cycle was much more painful than day one. I decided to switch from the 5% to the 18% drops instead. As someone who usually needs to be high off strong ibuprofen to get through a bad cycle. It impressed me how quickly I felt pain relief after the 18% drops. Personally, 10 drops once time a day was enough for me to manage. I thought that I might have needed more but that was far from the case.

Side effects

I personally didn’t experience any crazy side effects apart from rapid pain relief. My ability to drive was still intact, I didn’t experience drowsiness or any issues with my perception/consciousnesses. I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I’m glad my first experience of CBD oil was positive.
